Oregon’s Improvement in Housing Competitiveness was driven by more moderate changes in the four housing competitiveness components relative to many other states.

Oregon`s public safety spending per capita increased from $769.71 in 2011 to $1140.21 in 2023, that`s a 48.1% increase. How is this impacting our safety and community?

Despite a 48.1% surge in public spending on public safety from 2011 to 2023, Oregon witnessed a decline in the number of police per capita, dropping from 1.6 to 1.5 in the Police Per Capita metric in turn landing OR dead last in that measure.
